The following is a sampling of the type of cases we investigate and the persons we select to conduct those investigations.
HOMICIDE-ACCIDENT-SUICIDE-UNDETERMINED In conducting these investigations Beck assigns former homicide detectives and medical examiner investigators as well as other skilled investigators familiar with homicide, accidental deaths, and suicides. We have agents available who are thoroughly trained and experienced in the complex investigation of computer crime, fraud, embezzlement etc. In addition to this we have staff members who have experience in the investigation of the use of computers to obtain, store, and conceal child pornography or other illegal activities and materials. With our knowledge and in some cases use of specialized software we are able to find well hidden and deleted documents, e-mail, and photographs. We may also be able to restore these items to their original condition.
It is an unfortunate fact that today many police agencies are overwhelmed by their case loads. As missing persons are sometimes not a priority to police they often go un-investigated. Some departments will not take a case until 48 hours has passed since a person was last seen, though the initial hours and days are often the most critical. This is where the services of a professional investigator are most important. Our staff has decades of combined experience in the investigation of missing persons. Our experience includes both missing adults and children, to include those naturally missing (by choice) or abducted by a family member or stranger. Beck Group has no higher priority case. For these cases we only assign former police missing person’s investigators. NOTE: Under some circumstances involving cases of missing children or stranger abduction we will assist the family or police at no charge.
One simple definition, “To track prey or quarry”. Perhaps one of the most frightening things that can happen to a person. A crime in most states, sadly, as in missing persons cases, police often lack the resources to help. At Beck Group we have investigators who have successfully resolved these very serious threats. As with missing persons cases, stalking is given high priority. Customarily we attack this problem head on. The client is placed under surveillance by retired law enforcement officers, at the specific times the client is usually stalked. The offender is recorded in the act. We identify the offender and in some cases take the individual into custody. We then accompany the client to local law enforcement where we present our evidence. In most cases law enforcement will obtain a warrant of arrest for the offender and make an arrest. As a next step we will accompany you to the proper authorities in your area where we will assist you in obtaining a protection order from the offender. Protection orders usually prohibit the offender from having any further contact and provide stiff penalties (usually immediate incarceration) for violation of the order.
There are two types of identity theft. "Account takeover" occurs when a thief acquires your existing credit account information and purchases products and services using either the actual credit card or simply the account number and expiration date. "Application fraud" is what some experts call "true name fraud." The thief uses your SSN and other identifying information to open new accounts in your name. Victims are not likely to learn of application fraud for some time Generally; victims of credit and banking fraud are liable for no more than the first $50 of the loss. Even though victims are usually not saddled with paying their imposters' bills, they are often left with a bad credit report and must spend months and even years regaining their financial health. In the meantime, they may have difficulty getting credit, obtaining loans, and even getting hired. Victims of identity theft find little help from the authorities as law enforcement simply does not have the time or in some cases the knowledge to unravel this complex crime. These are difficult, but not impossible cases to investigate and are almost always time consuming. The investigation is often painstaking but with through examination of the details the case can usually be brought to a successful conclusion. Upon completion we notify the relevant law enforcement agency of our results and will assist you with credit bureaus, banks, etc. to restore your good name and credit. In these type of investigations we may be able to offer a reduced hourly rate to our clients.
Generally, all Beck Group employees are former law enforcement investigators. Each have backgrounds in investigating most type of crimes, with volumes of exposure. We also have investigators who have specialized backgrounds and expertise as well. Their backgrounds include homicide investigation, rape and other sexual crimes including pedophile and child pornography issues, physical abuse of children and neglect, arson, fraud, hate crimes, etc. Our philosophy as it relates to criminal defense work is quite simple. We know that errors are occasionally made by law enforcement and persons wrongly charged. As an organization will not knowingly assist a guilty party. In short, if you know your client is guilty you would be better served enlisting the services of another agency.
ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION AND RECONSTRUCTION Beck Group offers this service to assist the legal and insurance community. These services are performed by highly experienced former police accident investigators. Some of the services that we provide include:
Questioned documents are examined by a Beck Group consultant. Our consultant has more than four thousand hours of training and 25 years of experience. Unlike many examiners he is certified in this field. He received much of his training from organizations such as the Philadelphia Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, and the U.S. Secret Service. He has testified as an expert in his field in federal as well as state and local courts.
Beck Group uses a variety of accredited polygraph examiners, some are bilingual. The examiner is chosen based on his or her experience in the issue being examined.
In every protective assignment Beck Group assigns armed, former police officers to assure your safety. Some of our agents are trained in the martial arts as well. In cases involving extremely high risk we have on our staff former SWAT and STAKEOUT unit officers who are especially equipped to ensure your safety. Additionally we can outfit our clients with protective appliances such as bullet proof vests. All protection assignments are planned, coordinated, and supervised by a former special agent of the U.S. Secret Service, from our staff.
Beck Group employs state of the art equipment to search your environment for hidden telephone, room or body bugs, remote control signals, computer, fax and video transmitters, pulse tracking transmitters and even wide band frequency hopping devices (which rapidly change frequency) and are known as “burst bugs”. We will also test AC outlets, phone lines, and suspicious wires for very low frequency carrier current signals. Our sweep will ensure that your home or office is free of these devices. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT NOT TO PERFORM THIS SERVICE IN SOME CASES.
Coupled with our extensive experience, our surveillance specialists are highly trained in the use of the latest, high tech, state of the art, covert surveillance systems. Our vast array of equipment ranges from standard 35mm cameras, to miniature, virtually undetectable, high definition digital and video cameras hidden inside everyday items such as wrist watches, pagers and articles of clothing which we use alongside body-worn VCR's to allow us to get the evidence you need, even in indoor and previously problematic situations. We also utilize advanced systems such as infra-red night vision equipment and powerful zoom lenses for documenting activity from great distances or under the cover of darkness.
Home alone, wondering? According to an article in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFA) a national survey indicated that fifteen percent of wives and twenty-five percent of husbands have experienced extra-marital intercourse. While these statistics are disturbing the actual act of marital infidelity can be deadly. Welcome to the world of AIDS. Are we trying to scare you? You bet we are. It happens in the White House and it can happen in your house. Most spouses easily detect changes in each other and know when something is “just not right”. If you suspect that your spouse or “significant other” is being unfaithful Beck Group can help. Our agents will discreetly observe the party of your concern and learn the facts. Many times nothing is occurring and the irregularities can be explained. Hopefully, nothing will be amiss and life can go on, if not, then you really need to know.
